We would like to thank those who attended and participated in the community forum Wednesday, May 16, 2007. The Abbott Library Trustees Lisa Bozogan and I, Rhonda Gurney, hosted this forum as a way of reaching out and building relationships within the community.

In this way we have succeeded, as we have received overwhelming positive responses.

The presenters included the following:

• Patricia Halpin, representing the Recreation Department, spoke of the programs and their latest newsletter.
• Peg Chalmers, representing the Planning Board, spoke about the Master Plan.
• Joan Chandler, representing the SCES Building Committee, spoke about the goals of their committee.
• Kevin Rickard forwarded information regarding the charrett for the Old Town Hall.
• Lisa Bozogan gave a Powerpoint presentation entitled, "Where do we go from here?" regarding the planning for a new library.

I spoke of our appreciation of the many volunteers, past and present, who have contributed many hours to our library, and those who have given their time to the many other boards and committees in our community.

There was recognition of how, as a community, our needs and concerns all fit together. We will keep an open dialogue between boards, committees and individuals to encourage an understanding of the needs and concerns of the whole community. This communication will have a positive impact on the library, now and in the future.
